Location Cerler

For winter sports nearby Cerler is the highest ski resort in the Aragón Pyrenees with slopes ranging between 1500m and 2630m in altitude. This commanding position offers spectacular views of the Benasque Valley , the Aneto glacier and the surrounding mountain peaks.

The area is a favorite for many skiers looking to get away from large scale commercialism and the 50 pistes over 60kms of downhill runs offer good skiing for all abilities in an area full of inherent charm.

Benasque

The charming town of Benasque lives for alpine tourism and yet manages to maintain a rural Aragonese feel. Benasque is located in the northeast corner of Aragon. It is the ideal base from which to discover the Parque Natural Posets-Maladeta and the excellent trekking expeditions within to the peaks of Aneto on the Maladetta massif, the highest Spanish Pyrenean peak at 3404m and Posets at 3375m.

The Pyrenees are not just for experienced mountain trekkers the area also provides numerous marked short-haul paths (PR or pequeño recorrido) from which to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Pyrenees.

The area is blessed with opportunities making Benasque an ideal all year around activities centre. To compete with the excellent hiking tracks and some of the best rafting, and kayaking  in the Spanish Pyrenees as well as horse riding and paragliding.

Huesca

Benasque is part of the province of Huesca. Huesca is the capital of the province that takes its name, has approximately 50,000 inhabitants and was founded in the 1st century BC. It has a surface area of 15,615 Km2 and an altitude of 488 meters.
Huesca is contained to the north by the mountain ranges of Gratal, Gabardiella and Guara and to the south by Tardienta and Granen. It also borders with France through the passages of Somport, Portalet and Bielsa.

This city has much to offer and getting around is quite easy via the main roads highway and bus service that has regular routes with the main cities of Spain. The RENFE has several daily services, and the airport is only 30 minutes away. The city of Huesca feels hospitable and boasts of a great quality of life.
